EARLIER STORY. POSTED JAN. 14:

Gainesville Police are asking for help from the public as they search for the killer of one teenager and the wounding of another in a weekend shooting on the city’s west side. Meanwhile, Cumming Police have arrested a teenager in connection a Monday shooting in which no one was hurt.

“Police responded to reports of a vehicle crash and shots fired on Hillcrest Avenue (Saturday night),” according to a news release. “Emergency crews found Aristo Ramirez, 17, of Gainesville deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Subsequently, another teen, 16, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot.

The ongoing investigation suggests that this was not a random crime. It is believed that Ramirez was shot then crashed the vehicle. The second teen fled the area on foot prior to police arrival.”
