Flowery Branch man facing statutory rape, other sex-related charges
This time around, though, it’s a teenager whose been charged, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
HCSO NARRATIVE:
“A Hall County teenager remains in the Hall County Jail following his arrest in a sexual assault case involving a teenage girl.
Brayden Lee Thornton, 17, of Gainesville, has been charged with one count of felony aggravated sodomy, one misdemeanor count of aggravated child molestation and one misdemeanor count of statutory rape. He was arrested on warrants Sunday at his residence. The victim in the case is a girl under the age of 16.
The investigation began (Nov. 6), after the mother of the victim contacted law enforcement. On that date, the mother was at the suspect’s residence to retrieve her daughter’s belongings and contacted Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies for assistance. The investigation at that time determined the victim’s mother found evidence on her daughter’s phone that the girl and the suspect had been involved in a sexual relationship.
Investigators with the HCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) continued the investigation and obtained arrest warrants for Thornton (a week before Christmas. Thornton is being held with no bond.”
