Greg Dozier, Commissioner of the state’s Technical College System says they plan to use the $25-thousand dollars to support the state’s Dual Achievement Program, providing loaner computers and digital literacy training to students aged 16 to 21. He says the initiative aims to equip students with essential skills for academic success and future careers. *A poultry plant in the South Georgia city of Camilla has been fined by OSHA for health and safety violations. U.S. Department of Labor officials say the plant, which is a distributor for Tyson Foods, failed to protect employees from fire and explosion hazards. The more than 16-thousand-dollar fine issued to the plant late last week comes as two people are still recovering from an explosion and fire at the plant earlier this year. The workers were seriously burned when a hose filled with oil ruptured, causing an explosion and fire in the boiler room.

*Multiple deaths at the Athens-Clarke County Jail are being linked to drugs. Three inmates have died since late April, while another has been considered brain dead. Sheriff John Williams says that fentanyl and other drugs have likely led to those deaths.
