Hall County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Braselton man this week who as wanted in connection with a molestation investigation that began in June.
Deputies, assisted by Gainesville Police, took Jeffery Dwayne Douglas, 50, into custody during a traffic stop on Monday afternoon on Queen City Parkway near MLK, sheriff’s spokesman Derreck Booth said.
“The investigation began on June 10, 2025, when the complainant, an adult, reported the incident to deputies at HCSO (Hall County Sheriff’s Office) Headquarters,” Booth added. “The complainant made the report after the victim disclosed the incident to her.”
According to the preliminary investigation, Douglas showed the victim, who is under the age of 16, a nude photograph of himself. The incident happened at the victim’s home in South Hall between midnight and 2:00 a.m. on June 10. Douglas knew the victim prior to the crime.
Douglas is charged with one count of child molestation (felony).
He remained in the Hall County Jail without bond Wednesday morning.
