A student was missing for a time Tuesday morning from Enota Elementary School after failing to return from the restroom.
“Earlier today, a 4th Grade student went to the restroom and did not return to class,” city schools Supt. Jeremy Williams wrote in a message to Enota parents this morning. “Authorities searched the premises and the surrounding areas to locate the student. She has been located.”
Dr. Williams went on to say “Please know that the building is currently secure, and your children are safe. We did want to make you aware of the heavy police presence you may notice in the area.”
He added that after school officials failed to locate the girl, police were called and after reviewing a video and determining her direction, she was found alone in the woods behind the school.
