The strong winds that buffeted north Georgia Wednesday caused few reported problems.
A spokeswoman for Hall County said there were no problems associated with the winds here, though a gust of 40 miles-an-hour was recorded at the Gainesville airport about mid-afternoon. Throughout the day, winds of 30-35 mph were common.
Officials in Habersham County did report at one point that they were dealing with a number of roads that were blocked by fallen trees and/or power lines.
Jackson EMC, which provides electricity to ten counties in the area, did experience “a few outages,” spokeswoman Wendy Jones said Thursday morning.
