State trooper stops to assist motorist, ends up arresting him

A motorist a state trooper stopped to assist on I-985 Monday morning, ended up in the Hall County Jail.

GA. STATE PATROL NARRATIVE:

“While on scene, the trooper became aware that the Nissan Sentra had a rear license plate that was not the correct registration tag for the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver, Ericsson Alexander Romero, 21, of Lilburn…had a suspended driver’s license, a small quantity of marijuana, and had multiple warrants.

He was arrested and taken to Hall County Jail on charges of Driving While License Suspended, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Use of License Plate to Conceal Identity of a Vehicle, No Proof of Insurance, and Expired Tag.”

Romero was still in jail as of mid-afternoon Tuesday. His bonds total $3,640.
