State lawmaker proposes naming Forsyth Co. mountain after President Trump

State Rep. David Clark (R-Buford) has introduced a resolution in the Georgia House to rename Forsyth County’s Sawnee Mountain Trump Mountain.

Clark says doing so would “recognize the historic significance of President Donald J. Trump’s leadership and legacy.”

Clark’s resolution says Sawnee Mountain was chosen to commemorate the town hall meeting Trump held in Forsyth County during last year’s presidential campaign.

The mountain is named for Chief Sawnee, a Cherokee Native American who lived in what is now Forsyth County.
