The GBI is examining crime patterns this year in an effort to improve public safety and fund the appropriate resources in 2025.
According to the Georgia Uniform Crime Reporting program, a violent crime is committed every fifteen minutes in Georgia. That includes on average nine reported rape cases a day, two murders a day, and twelve robberies.
Last year, the GBI was called out to 7,000 investigations across the state. The agency is requesting an increase in its staff next year and more funding for its technology.
