Braselton’s Town Council has named former Flowery Branch City Attorney Ron Bennett the sole finalist for the position of Town Manager, replacing longtime the longtime holder of the office, Jennifer Scott, who was suddenly let go last month. State law requires that such appointments must be made at least 14 days prior to any meeting “at which a final vote or action may be taken for appointment.”
Smith most recently served as a partner in the law firm of Carothers & Mitchell. He also served as City Attorney: Johns Creek (8 years); Flowery Branch (18 years); Bethlehem (18 years).
And he has experience assisting other local governments as legal counsel: Gwinnett County; Hall County; Fulton County; DeKalb County; Athens-Clarke County, according to Braselton’s announcement.
