The driver of a cargo van was killed Friday morning when he rear-ended a flatbed truck at the intersection of Georgia 365 and Lula Road, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). It happened just before 10:00 and closed 365 for about one-and-a-half hours.
According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman B.J. Williams, the flatbed truck was traveling southbound on 365 and had stopped at the intersection. The van was traveling behind it and failed to stop, slamming into its rear.
The driver, Rafael Warner, 43, of Social Circle, died at the scene. The driver of the truck, Ralph Hilliard, Jr., 66, of Gainesville, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center
Gainesville for treatment.
