A large house in Jackson County was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon and the column of thick black smoke could be seen for miles.

“At approximately 3:37pm (Tuesday) units from Nicholson, South Jackson, Jackson Co. CI & Jackson Co. EMS were dispatched to 3012 New Kings Bridge Road for a residential fire.
First arriving units found the structure well involved but were able to quickly bring the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.”
