UPDATE 3:00 P.M. SUNDAY: Charges filed in Mall of Georgia shooting

UPDATE 3:00 P.M. SUNDAY

Gwinnett County Police have arrested Khaden Williams (18 years old, Dekalb County) in connection with a shooting outside the Mall of Georgia Saturday night. Williams has been charged him with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The victim is a 15-year-old boy who is being treated at a hospital for his wounds. His name had not been released as of Sunday afternoon.

One person was wounded in a shooting at the Mall of Georgia Saturday night.

Shortly before 9:30, an officer working a security detail at the mall heard gunshots and immediately ran towards them. One subject, who was attempting to flee the scene, was quickly taken into custody, according to Gwinnett Police, and the victim was taken to a hospital.

Detectives arrived and began trying to locate any witnesses to the shooting.  CSI is on scene processing evidence. The suspect was taken to Gwinnett County Police headquarters for questioning.
