Sheriff’s deputy’s special Nov. mission

“HCSO SSgt. Jennifer Watt has ๐—ฎ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ, and that mission is to honor the memory of her mother Aletha Lyons who passed away in December 2020 from complications of small cell lung cancer.

As she was undergoing treatment for the disease, Aletha began making chemo care bags for other patients who were also fighting a cancer battle. SSgt. Watt has carried on that tradition every November because ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—Ÿ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—”๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ต.

SSgt. Watt, who has served both Johnson High School and Cherokee Bluff High School as an SRO, gets support for the project from students and staff. This year, they donated enough goodies to create ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿญ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐˜€! All of the bags will go to cancer patients undergoing treatment at ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—–๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—–๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ in Gainesville. We love seeing partnerships like this!”
