The Gainesville area may have escaped any of the predicted severe weather overnight (parts of northwest Georgia including Rome got hit hard) but the threat for today remains – primarily between 2:00 and 8:00. The National Weather Service (NWS) says that includes large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
