A celebration of life will be held next week for a woman well-known to the local dance community. Mary L. Dobbs died Dec. 27 the age of 94.
Dobbs majored in Dance and minored in Education in college and taught Ballroom Dance to 6th and 7th graders for years and taught Modern Dance at Brenau University for 10 years. The Gainesville Ballet started in her dance studio.
She was a former member of the Lanier Tech Board and the Young Life Board and served as a volunteer for the Northeast Ga. Medical Center for several years. Dobbs was named Gracious Lady of Georgia for her service in various areas.
The Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 1:00-3:00, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel.
