The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) and Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have issued reminders about street closings Saturday associated with two “big draw” events.
GPD says parts of High, Pine, and Davis streets are closed and will be closed Sunday as well because of Mule Camp Market on the Midland Greenway.
The best plan for visiting, police say, is to park in one of the downtown parking lots and catch the free Gainesville Trolley to the event because vendors have most of the street parking used up in the area.
Also, HCSO is reminding motorists that a section of Winder Highway near Road Atlanta will be closed starting at 10:00 p.m. Saturday as the main event at this year’s Petit Le Mans is ending. Southbound traffic will be diverted to Ga. 211/Tanners Mill Road. Northbound vehicles will be directed onto Benefield Road. The detour is expected to last until approximately 11:30 p.m.
