*A 79-year-old Gainesville woman recently reported losing $700 in a case of exploitation of the disabled or elderly, according to information from city police. The reported theft occurred between Sept. 12 and Oct. 14, the report says.
*A 17-year-old was booked into the Hall County Jail Thursday morning on a weapons charge. The booking information says he was charged with carrying a weapon in school safety zones or at school functions. The sheriff’s office says it is a Gainesville Police case.
