A sanitation worker in Dawson County has died after being injured in an accident last week that involved the garbage truck he was riding.
The state patrol said Tuesday the accident happened Thursday morning about 6:30 on Georgia 136 near Bailey Waters Road.
Richard Mull, 65, Dawsonville, was aboard a “catwalk” on the Evans Garbage Service truck when it was hit by a car driven by 27-year-old Fidelina Nolasco Ramirez of Ellijay who, according to the investigating state trooper, left the scene of the accident.
The trooper says Ramirez was later found at a residence on Georgia 136 east of the accident scene and is facing a number of charges in connection with the crash.
