With subfreezing temperatures expected the next couple of nights, the Salvation Army in Gainesville is planning to open its warming center through Tuesday night.
“With overnight temperatures forecasted to be at or below 35 degrees, The Center of Hope will be operating as an overnight White Flag shelter Sunday and Monday nights, the 11th 12th at 711 Dorsey St.,” a Facebook post says.
“We have limited additional beds available for men and women, and they will be available first come first served until they are filled. Our additional capacity is limited by occupancy codes.”
Expected lows in Gainesville the next three nights, according to the weather service: 28 Sunday, 31 Monday and 38 Tuesday.
