A 34-yearold Flowery Branch woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with nearly 40 counts of fraudulently obtaining prescription drugs.
“Investigators with the Flowery Branch Police Department determined that Ashley Dean had been unlawfully writing false prescriptions for various medications,” police spokesman Tony Alvarez said. “Over a 10-month period, a total of 37 fraudulent prescriptions were issued under her name.”
Lt. Alvarez said the investigation “proved” Dean would have the prescriptions filled at a Flowery Branch pharmacy.
He added that was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Hall County Jail where she was being held without bond Wednesday afternoon.
