S. Hall man facing several ID theft charges

FLOWERY BRANCH POLICE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:

“On Friday May 3, 2024, Flowery Branch Police Officers responded to Mr. Zachery Russell’s
residence located at 5120 Railroad Avenue in reference to an ongoing investigation.

While on scene at the residence, officers made contact with Mr. Russell and conducted a search of his
person and his property, which resulted in them locating numerous government issued forms of
identification for five different people. All five victims were contacted, and it was confirmed that
Mr. Russell was not supposed to be in possession of these items.

Additionally, other objects known to be used in illegal drug activity were also located and seized as evidence.

The identification items found included Georgia driver’s licenses and social security cards, of
which all were taken into police custody and returned to their rightful owners. Mr. Russell was
arrested on scene and charged with five counts of Identity Fraud, two counts of Theft by
Receiving Stolen Property, and one count of Possession of Drug Related Objects.

As this investigation is ongoing, other charges may still be forthcoming.”
