S. Hall barn fire: Four animals dead, 20 saved

Hall County firefighters were able to save 20 animals from a South Hall barn fire Sunday morning although four others died in the blaze.

“Approximately 10:00 a.m., Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the 3500 block of Friendship Road for reports of a barn fire,” spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger said. “First arriving units discovered a single-story fully involved barn with animals trapped inside.”

Crews began trying to put out the fire while at the same time getting the animals out of the structure. “The bulk of the fire was extinguished quickly, and 20 animals were saved,” Ledsinger added. “Unfortunately, two pigs and two quail were found deceased.”

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
