Alleged S. Hall road rage incident leads to an arrest

A Buford man was being held without bond in the Hall County Jail Monday afternoon following his weekend arrest after he reportedly brandished a gun during a confrontation with a motorist.

HCSO NARRATIVE:

“Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies…arrested Shawn Marcel Baumgartner, 54, in the 2000 block of Beard’s Road…

According to preliminary details, the male victim, 25, was driving a dump truck on Beard’s Road and stopped because a vehicle in front of him had stopped. Baumgartner, who lives on the road, approached the truck on foot and argued with the driver about whether the truck was authorized to travel on Beard’s Road. Baumgartner then brandished, pointed and waved a handgun in the direction of the victim. Both men called 911 and remained at the scene until deputies’ arrival.

The driver stayed in the truck during the incident, and no one was hurt.

Deputies took Baumgartner to the Hall County Jail following his arrest…”

He is charged with aggravated assault.
