Harry “Verne” Smith passed away Wednesday following an extended illness.
After serving 21 years of active duty in the Army, Smith served North Georgia College and North Georgia College and State University (NGCSU), now the University of North Georgia, as the Director of Student Job Placement, Executive Director of NGCSU Foundation and NGCSU Alumni Association, and the Director of Advancement, Alumni Affairs, and Development.
He was a 1961graduate of North Georgia.
