HALL CO. NEWS RELEASE:

“Hall County Government, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), will assist with the management of nine USACE parks on Lake Lanier, ensuring day use parks and boat ramps are open and accessible to the public for the holiday weekend.

“Since the recent closing of several Lake Lanier parks in Hall County, we have worked diligently to find a solution which would allow us to reopen parks and boat ramps on one of the most visited lakes in the Southeast,” County Administrator Zach Propes said. “We are grateful for our state representatives and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for working with us to ensure Hall County’s citizens and visitors can continue to enjoy Lake Lanier throughout the summer.”

Hall County has entered into a one-year Challenge Cost Sharing Cooperative Management Agreement (CCSMA) and Partner Operations Plan (POP) with USACE to assist with operations, maintenance and management activities at the nine previously closed parks that would otherwise remain closed due to federal staffing shortages.
