Downtown Clarkesville redevelopment talks resuming; Almost 300 new homes proposed in Forsyth

*A major downtown redevelopment project is back on track in Clarkesville. City officials will revisit plans for the former Habersham County courthouse property during a work session today. They have discussed everything from a boutique hotel and restaurant to a new fire station on the site. The meeting is scheduled for 5:00 at City Hall, where officials are also expected to introduce the city’s new Main Street manager, Lauren Shubert.

*In Forsyth County, also today, planning commissioners are scheduled to consider proposals for 201 homes near McConnell and Heardsville roads, 96 homes near Jot Em Down Road, and a 187,608-square-foot commercial development on Peachtree Parkway.
