REMINDER: Hall Co. to host town hall meeting Wed. on plans for new courthouse

Hall County Government will host a town hall meeting on Wednesday at 6:00 at the Hall County Government Center to discuss the proposed Judicial Complex Expansion project, including its location and current status.  Earlier this month a divided board of commissioners ratified the purchase of property near downtown which would be used for a parking deck for a new courthouse. “This meeting will provide residents with an update and an opportunity to hear from County leadership, ask questions and learn more about the project,” Interim County Administrator John Gentry said June 12 in announcing plans for Wednesday’s meeting. “While the project is still in its early stages, we are committed to keeping the community informed as it moves forward.”

Discussion topics will include potential expansion sites, with details on topography, infrastructure and long-term needs that will guide the decision-making process. The goal is to ensure the selected location delivers the best return on investment and long-term value for both the community and the court system.

The Judicial Complex Expansion will be funded using the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Program (SPLOST IX), which was approved by voters in the Nov. 2025 election.

The town hall meeting will take place inside the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Hall County Government Center.
