Reminder: Dam road closing; Make is three in a row for NGHS; Road dedication to memorialize national guardsman

*REMINDER: Buford Dam Road will be closed tomorrow and Thursday 8:30-4:00 for road repairs and sealing. The Corps of Engineers suggests using Ga. 20 as an alternate route. Several parks in the work area, along with the Lanier Project Management Office and Shoreline Help Desk, will also be closed.

*For the third consecutive year, the Center for Simulation and Innovation
at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review,
a national trade publication, as one of the top hospital and health system simulation centers in the
country. The publication also highlighted the program’s signature mobile simulation initiative,
which serves 11 rural communities and partners with 15 emergency medical services, many in
maternity care deserts, to expand access to high-quality clinical education.

*Forsyth County will hold ceremony in honor of Spc. Zachary Steele at 11 a.m. on April 20 at the intersection of Aquatic Circle, Bronze Oak Way and Pilgrim Mill Road to dedicate a portion of Pilgrim Mill Road as the “SPC Zachary Evan Steele Memorial Road.” It’s being held to honor the life and service of lifelong Forsyth County resident Spc. Zachary Steele, who was killed last year in a traffic accident while on active duty.
