The recent GBI announcement that a suspect in a decades-old south Georgia rape-murder case had been arrested (see below) brought to mind two Hall County cases still in the agency’s Cold Case files. That of Hannah Truelove and Ricko Bledson.
Truelove’s body was found in a wooded area behind Lake Lanier Club Apartments on Dawsonville Highway Aug. 24, 2012, one day after she disappeared. The 16-year-old Truelove, a student at Gainesville High School, lived in the apartments with her mother.
Bledson’s body was discovered about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 6, 2016, outside his home in Flowery Branch.
Anyone with any information on either of these cases is asked to call the GBI Regional Office in Cleveland or the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (the Truelove case) or the Flowery Branch Police Department (the Bledson case) or 1-800-TIPS (8477). You may remain anonymous.
EARLIER STORY. POSTED APRIL 1: The GBI has arrested and charged Freddie Lee Granger Jr., 68, Waycross, with one count of Rape, one count of Aggravated Assault, one count of Malice Murder, and two counts of Felony Murder in connection with the 1984 rape and murder of 22-year-old Sandra Kaye Davis. The GBI says continued DNA testing linked Granger to the crime.
