Week eleven of Friday Night Football in North Georgia features a cross-town, region 8-AAA match up, as the West Hall Spartans take on the East Hall Vikings.
The Spartans come into week eleven at 4-4 overall, and 5th in the region at 0-3. The team is looking to bounce back after losses to Jefferson, Cherokee Bluff, and Oconee County.
Meanwhile, the Vikings enter the series at 3-5 overall, and 6th in the region at 0-3. The team has not been victorious since September 6th when they defeated the Johnson Knights.
Two teams “Evenly Matched”
Mike Wofford spoke with coach Krofton Montgomery of West Hall, and discussed the importance of a cross-town match up in a region game. He said that “. . . After playing these last three games against top-ten opponents . . [it’s] probably a little more evenly matched in terms of personnel and things of that nature. . .”
West Hall’s key player will be running back Elijah Hayes, who has rushed for 1083 yards this season.
Game will be a “Battle
Mike Wofford also spoke with coach Matt turner of East Hall, and asked him what kind of game he expects with West Hall. “I think it’s going to be a battle. . .” he replied. “. . . They started really, really strong this year. They kinda hit some lumps with Jefferson and Oconee just like we did, but they’re a really, really good team. . .”
East Hall’s key player will be quarter back Jamarcus Harrison, rushing for 615 yards on the season.
