The 1.68 inches of rain recorded in Gainesville Monday was the biggest single-day total since 1.77 inches Sept. 6 and ended a string of six weeks of nearly rainless days.
After a one-day break today, the showers will return tomorrow before ending for the week on Thursday.
The rest of the week will remain cool though, with highs each day in the 60s and lows at night in the 30s and 40s.
The outlook for Halloween? Sunny with a high of 61 and clear at night with a low of 39.
