Qualifying has reopened for a seat on the Cornelia City Commission after no one signed up to run for the post during last week’s mandatory qualifying period.
The new window opened Monday and will close at the end of the business day on Tuesday.
At issue is the Ward 2 seat which has been held by longtime commissioner Janice Griggs who decided not to seek re-election.
Municipal elections in Georgia will be held Nov. 4.
