“Rejoice, cool air is on the way!”
Even the guys and gals at the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Peachtree City couldn’t contain their enthusiasm for the coming change in our weather after a week of triple digit heat indexes and at times air temperatures.
“Thunderstorms ahead of the front could become strong with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall (overnight). Spotty to widespread showers and thunderstorms continue through the weekend.”
Temperatures? Well, daytime highs in the mid-to-upper 70s, or about 20 degrees cooler than what we’ve had most of the week. And nighttime lows, though they will remain in the 70s, will also be cooler.
