Truett McConnell University (TMU) has elevated from a Level III Institution to a Level V Institution with the launch of its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program which its president credits to “only the providence and the goodness of God.”
This milestone signifies an accreditation level change with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Established 78 years ago as a two-year junior college, Baptist-affiliated TMU now boasts 10 schools and more than 50 programs of study. The introduction of the DBA program represents a historic moment for the university, expanding its ability to prepare students for leadership in an ever-changing world.
The DBA program is tailored for business professionals seeking to enhance their expertise in strategic thinking, leadership, and innovation. Designed with flexibility in mind, the program is delivered 100% online and can be completed in just over two years. This future-focused curriculum emphasizes practical application, equipping graduates to drive organizational success through a Biblical worldview.
“Only the providence and goodness of God can explain such an historic day in the life of Truett McConnell University,” wrote Dr. Emir Caner, TMU President, about the program’s opening. “The once two-year junior college founded in 1946, a college that only began offering graduate degrees a decade ago, is now approved to confer the Doctorate in Business Administration. While few could ever imagine this day, one crucial principle remains the same: all of our degrees are firmly established on the inerrant and sufficient Word of God and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.”
