The Hollywood 15 auditorium where the premiere of a documentary about E.E. Butler High School was packed Monday.
The Newtown Florist Club hosted the screening as part its tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr., on the day set side to honor him.
“We are so grateful to God and the community for making this 2026 MLK Day Documentary release a glorious event,” a club social media posting reads. “Thank you to everyone who help made this possible and special thanks Regal Hollywood Gainesville.”
Butler High was the Gainesville high school for Blacks in the days of segregated schools.
