Out-of-state man’s body found in Hall Co. park; foul play not suspected

The body of a Kansas man was found Thursday morning, at Old Federal Campground in Flowery Branch. The death is not considered suspicious.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to the campground around 8:00 after a park visitor reported finding the man unresponsive on the ground near the trash dumpsters. The man’s running vehicle was at the scene. Emergency medical units arrived and pronounced the man dead.

HCSO investigators responded to the park as well. “Their investigation determined the man, identified as Patrick James O’Toole, 69, had been camping at the park campground,” HCSO spokeswoman B.J. Williams said. “They were able to contact relatives who live in Hall County. They explained that the man had been traveling in his camper and he was in the area visiting his family.”

While no foul play is suspected, the body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
