HCSO NARRATIVE:
“A motorist suffered serious injuries Thursday when his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into multiple vehicles and an awning at a convenience store located at the intersection of Falcon Parkway and Martin Road in Flowery Branch.
According to investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Accident Investigation Unit (AIU), the crash occurred just before 11:30 a.m.
The driver of a Tesla Model 3 was traveling northbound on Falcon Parkway when he left his travel lane and struck a raised concrete curb at the intersection of Martin Road. As a result, the vehicle vaulted over a drainage ditch and struck a small tree on the property. The vehicle then launched from a pile of dirt at the base of the tree and landed on top of a Dodge Caravan, which was parked at the convenience store.
The vehicle then continued uncontrolled into a support beam on an awning covering the gas pumps, causing a portion of the awning to collapse. In the process, a gas pump was knocked free from its base, striking a Honda Accord parked at the pumps. Debris from the Tesla damaged two more vehicles.
The driver was identified as Nicholas Richard Murciano, 29, of Gainesville. Mr. Murciano was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
All other vehicles involved in the incident were unoccupied at the time. No one on the property was injured.
Charges are pending based on the outcome of the investigation.”
