One injury in Gainesville apartment fire

GAINESVILLE FIRE DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:

“(About 3:30 Tuesday afternoon) Gainesville Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at
Carrington Park apartments.

Fire units arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a (second) floor unit. Fire
personnel made entry to the smoke-filled apartment, quickly located one unconscious subject, and
carried them out to safety.

Meanwhile, the sprinkler system kept the fire in check until other fire crews
extinguished the fire. The fire itself was a result of a cooking incident that caused damage to the kitchen
along with smoke damage to the rest of the apartment.
