‘Odd letter’; Exploitation of elderly; I-985 road rage

*A Gainesville man with close ties to President Trump reported to Gainesville Police Tuesday that he had received “an odd letter in the mail” at both his home and place of employment. A police spokesman said it “outlined World War III.” The first was reportedly sent to his office between Feb. 26 and Tuesday. The second between last Thursday and Tuesday.

*A 75-year-old Gainesville man’s caretaker says the man is “possibly being exploited by a friend.” No details of what is supposed to have happened were released by police. It was also reported Tuesday.

*A 26-year-old woman says she was the victim of a road rage incident about 5:00 Tuesday afternoon on the I-985 Exit 17 southbound off-ramp. Again, no details on what was reported to have happened. But a police department spokesman said there was “no damage or injury.”
