One person has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of another in Oakwood Saturday afternoon, Oakwood Police Chief Tim Hatch said Sunday.
Chief Hatch said officers were dispatched about 5:00 to 5323 Aster Place “in reference to a shooting in progress.”
OAKWOOD POLICE NEWS RELEASE:
“Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle that had crashed into the rear of a residence located on Wild Berry Ct. Officers located a (man) in the driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville where he succumbed to his injuries.
Simultaneously, deputies from Hall County Sheriff’s Office and officers from Flowery Branch Police Department responded to assist and located a second (man) at the address of the original call…who had sustained a minor injury. This subject was identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Gambrel. Gambrel was detained at the scene.
Mr. Gambrel was arrested and charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault with Intent to Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
