The funeral for Oakwood City Councilman Dwight Wood will be held Monday at 2:00 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.

Dwight Wood was 71.
He had qualified a few weeks ago, with no opposition, to seek re-election this year.
Wood served as Superior and State Court Clerk in Hall County for 24 years (1985 – 2008) and worked in county government for 33 years. He was a member of the Oakwood Development Authority before running for a seat on the city council.
His father, Donald T. Wood, was on the council for more than 20 years.
