GDOT NEWS RELEASE
“The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has issued a Notice to Proceed for a right turn lane extension project on State Route (SR) 53 at Old Mundy Mill Road in Hall County. Contractor Backbone Infrastructure, LLC will begin construction this week, with work expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, weather permitting. The contract amount is $38,660.00.
To improve traffic flow and safety at this busy intersection, crews will remove an existing concrete island and extend the right turn lane on SR 53. This work will be performed during daytime hours and will include repaving and restriping the affected area.
Temporary Access Changes for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Office
As part of construction, the SR 53 entrance to the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) office will be temporarily closed for two to three days between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. during the removal and repaving process. During these closures, visitors are advised to use the alternate entrance off Old Mundy Mill Road to access the doctor’s office.
