After an early morning Monday of cold and wind, with wind chills reaching into the mid-20s at times in Gainesville, some adjacent counties may have a bit of snow this afternoon and into the evening.
“A brief burst of snow showers is expected in the mountains of northeast Georgia Monday afternoon,” a Monday morning advisory from the National Weather Service (NWS) says. “Light accumulations may be possible on grassy and elevated surfaces, especially at elevations over 2,000 ft. Be prepared for slick bridges and overpasses. Slick spots may linger through Tuesday morning where accumulations occur.”
Dawson, Lumpkin and White are the counties in our area that are most likely to be affected.
