Unlike last year’s which carried over until this March, the drought we’ve been dealing with the past couple of months should be over in Georgia by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. That’s according to a just released Seasonal Drought Outlook from the National Weather Service (NWS).
Recent rainfall has been able to keep further drought development at bay, the report says, with very little in the way of changes nationwide from last week. (That was true of Georgia, too. Ga. drought: Little change from a week ago (wgtjradio.com)
The report cites June rainfall in Georgia, noting that less than ten percent of the state recorded at least two inches. It does not take into account what has fallen in July.
