NWS: Get ready for another warmer-than-normal summer

The summertime National Weather Service (NWS) temperature outlook for our area and most of the rest of the Southeast favors above-normal readings.

This covers June-August and the same is true for most of the rest of the country
throughout the West, much of the Great Plains, Lower Mississippi Valley, and
East.

The highest forecast confidence for above-normal temperatures is across
the Pacific Northwest. And above-normal temperatures are also favored for a
majority of Alaska.

In other words, a repeat of last summer which Gainesville was 12 degrees warmer than usual.

What about rain?

Near-normal rainfall is predicted for Georgia and most of the eastern half of the country. Below-normal precipitation is forecast for the northwest corner of the country, the Upper Midwest and the Texas Gulf coast. Above-normal rainfall is predicted for the Northeast and the Arizona/New Mexico/Utah areas.
