Williams inducted into Hall of Fame; Victim of fatal accident ID’d

*Did you miss this last week as it slowly made its way through Hall County? Traveling only seven miles an hour, a 48-wheel double trailer tractor-trailer caught the attention of many local residents on its way from Canton, N.C., to Mexico. It’s cargo? A one-half ton industrial boiler.

*Radio veteran Joel Williams of Gainesville was inducted Saturday night into the Friends of Georgia Radio Hall of Fame. A Habersham County native, Williams is currently with WCON in Cornelia, but for a number of years was a fixture at WDUN in Gainesville.

*The victim of a fatal traffic accident in Baldwin last weekend has been identified by the state patrol as Ashlie Robertson 41, of Cornelia. The accident occurred on Gainesville Highway near Dallas Street and involved a head-on collision between an SUV, driven by Robertson, and a tractor-trailer.
