A small plane landed Thursday night at Habersham County Airport without its landing gear
down.
Interim Airport Manager Josh Hall, who serves full time as operations manager for the facility, explained what happened.
“I was notified that we had an airplane – a single-engine Bonanza – make a gear-up landing,” Hall said. “Once I found out about that, I issued (an order) for a temporary runway closure. There were no injuries…”
He added, however, that there was significant damage to the airplane, including the bent propeller and there was some engine damage.
The incident happened about 7:30. The runway was reopened about an hour later.
