NGHS earns 21 national awards from AHA

The American Heart Association (AHA) recently presented the Northeast Georgia Health System’s hospitals with 21 awards through the national Get With The Guidelines program. The program honors excellence in quality improvement, which leads to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.

“NGHS is committed to continuously improving how we deliver high-quality care for heart attacks and strokes across every department,” said Vik Reddy, MD, chief clinical officer for NGHS. “The Get With The Guidelines program makes it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to use every day, which helps us ensure we can provide the best possible outcomes for the people who depend on us.”

A standout amongst the awards is a new Commitment to Quality Award for NGMC Braselton. According to the AHA, this awarded recognizes “an elite group of hospitals” for high achievement across several different program measures. Only 158 sites in the nation met the criteria for the award this year.
