NGCF celebrates record-breaking scholarship awards

The Gainesville-based North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) Friday reported the largest disbursement of scholarships in its history.

NGCF NEWS RELEASE:

“… A total of 306 scholarships
amounting to $743,649 were awarded to deserving students across North Georgia who entered
college or technical school this Fall.
NGCF’s team recently celebrated this milestone, alongside generous fundholders and
committed volunteer scholarship reviewers. “We are immensely grateful for all of their passion
and dedication that have been instrumental in reaching this remarkable milestone,” said
Michelle Prater, President & CEO of NGCF. “This commitment to the community and belief in
the power of education is what fuels our mission and enables us to support an increasing
number of students each year.”
Connie and Sammy Tucker, who established the Jody Tucker Memorial Scholarship in 2000 in
loving memory of their son, expressed their deep appreciation for NGCF’s stewardship: “Over
the years, we’ve witnessed the Foundation’s incredible dedication to administering scholarships.
We are so impressed by their commitment and are proud to support students as they pursue
their educational dreams. It’s more than a scholarship; it’s a way to honor Jody’s legacy and
invest in the potential of our youth.”
Each of NGCF’s scholarship funds reflect a unique meaning and support the individual stories
and dreams of the recipients. NGCF takes pride in administering and guiding the scholarship
process to ensure that each award finds its way to a worthy recipient. The next NCGF
scholarship cycle will open on January 15, 2025. There is still time this year to establish a new
scholarship fund and present the inaugural award in 2025; for more information, visit
